Membership Levels

Visitors:

Visitors are a welcome part of the Son Life Church family. A person may come to the church and remain a visitor as long as they desire. There are no requirements puts on visitors, likewise a visitor does not partake of the opportunity to use their giftings within the departments of the church. The Outreach department of the church keeps track of the visitors. Jeanne Roth, Pastor of Counseling, is available at hourly rates for anyone needing her services. Foundation Level:

At the foundation level a person makes the decision that they are interested in membership at Son Life Church. They enter into a twelve-week course that meets on Sunday mornings from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. Pastors Dennis and Patti and the Son Life elders teach classes concerning the basic doctrines of the church. Gleaner Level:

At this level a person has completed the foundation’s class. They now enter into a twelve-week time period in which they build relationships in the body. A gleaner is placed in a service group according to their age. A service group leader becomes responsible for the care of the gleaner at this time. A person at the gleaner level is expected to fulfill service group responsibilities such as regular church cleaning and co-operative deaconing duties within the service group. A gleaner may function in church departments on an entry level of service (entry level service is determined by each individual department). A gleaner would not bear a place of responsibility or leadership within the church , this time of knitting into the body is very important.

Active Member Level:

An active member is a person who has chosen to make covenant with the body of Son Life Church. This person has completed the foundation level, the gleaner level and is now ready for the responsibilities and privileges of membership. Prior to being brought into covenant membership, the elder of the gleaner’s service group does an activity relationship check on the gleaner for the purpose of evaluating the prospective member’s progress in body life and corporate church vision. An active member may choose in-depth counseling services and may become fully involved in any department.

Active Non-member Level:

An active non-member is a person who has gone through the 16 week foundations course and for whatever reason chooses not to make covenant with the church but desires to attend Son Life Church. They would remain at the level of a gleaner as far as the privileges and responsibility in the church.
